The pool and sell model has been successfully created in three districts that CCD works in. In Adilabad, Anantapur and Chittoor farmer members have increasingly taken ownership of the process of pooling and selling groundnut, soya, red-gram, cotton and mango.
Red-gram, Cotton, Soyabean, Groundnut and Mango from the farmers was pooled up at the village level itself, and the pooled produce is sold to the millers and brokers at the village level itself by weighing the produce on the Cooperative societies Scales .
The immediate effect of a price benefit and correct weighment is felt not just by members, but also by the non- members in the village who sell their produce under Pool and Sell Method. This is because of the 'honesty effect'- the federation, as a player market is adopting honest methods to trade, forces other traders to adopt fair practices in the village where the cooperatives are operational.
